Requirements for Long Term Residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment for Men
The treatment program at La Verna Lodge is for adult men, 18 years of age or older who are chemically dependent and require extended residential treatment in a structure therapeutic environment. La Verna Lodge does not provide detoxification or medical stabilization services. Prospective residents who need to detox will be admitted to an accredited treatment facility, and upon discharge they will begin their treatment at La Verna Lodge.
Initial Assessment - The initial assessment generally begins with an inquiry call from the prospective resident, family member and/or referral source. These calls are taken 24 hours a day. After the information is gathered from the caller, a pre-admission screening and orientation appointment will be scheduled.
Pre-admission Screening & Orientation - During the screening, the La Verna Lodge staff will interview the prospective resident about his addiction. This information is gathered to determine the appropriate treatment plan for the resident. If the prospective resident decides that he wants to receive treatment from La Verna Lodge, then the resident will need to proceed with the following:
- Fax TB and a physical history to La Verna Lodge
- Set a date and time for official program admission
- Make travel arrangements with family and La Verna Lodge staff
Upon arrival, residents receive a Bio-psycho-social assessment and proceed with orientation. Residents meet with the clinical director to begin treatment and continuing care planning. Each resident's treatment plan will include the levels of care and specific services that will serve his personal and professional needs. Each person's length of stay will vary according to his needs. On average, most professionals stay for 9 to 12 weeks.
